BiteBloom is developed by Serghei Chirilenco ("BiteBloom", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the BiteBloom iOS app and related backend services.

BiteBloom does not require you to create an account.

1. Information stored on your device

BiteBloom stores certain app data locally on your device so the app can work as expected. This may include:

• onboarding status and app preferences;
• an optional display name you choose to enter;
• favourites;
• saved AI recipes;
• shopping-list / ingredient-list items;
• cooking and progress history, including estimated calories saved;
• cached recipe data and generated images;
• a cached Premium status while Apple subscription entitlement is being verified;
• advertising timing / frequency state needed to avoid showing ads too often.

Most of this information remains on your device unless a feature described below requires network processing.

2. Anonymous installation credential and backend security

To protect BiteBloom's AI services from abuse and excessive automated use, the app may create a random installation identifier. The identifier and a backend access token are stored securely in the iOS Keychain and used to authenticate requests to BiteBloom's backend.

The installation identifier is not intended to contain your name, email address, phone number or other direct contact information.

BiteBloom's backend may use the installation identifier and IP address, including hashed forms of them, for rate limiting, fraud/abuse prevention, service security, operational limits and cost control.
